Weekend Eats Edit No. 8
ft. good eats in Boston, MA
I visited my cousin Hannah in Boston a couple of weekends ago, and the last time I was there was when I was visiting colleges about ten years ago. I remember strolling Newbury Street, and that is about it. Hannah has an adorable apartment with her boyfriend in Southie, right around the corner from Loco Taqueria, where we had lunch when I arrived.
I flew into Boston from NYC because the flight and train ticket prices are comparable, but flying takes 35 minutes, and the train takes five hours, so it honestly was a no-brainer for me.
We both love food and fun dining experiences – she was my St. Barths travel buddy last summer – I wrote about all of our good eats here:
But in terms of Boston, here is a list of the places we went to over the weekend and my thoughts on what we ordered.
LOCO TAQUERIA in Southie
Loco Taqueria is known for its savage sidewalk signs, tacos, and margaritas. We stopped here for a quick lunch and marg when I arrived on Friday afternoon. I ordered a strawberry marg, one chicken tinga taco, and one beef short rib taco. All delicious and no complaints.
SNOWPORT in Seaport
After we had a couple of quick tacos and margs we ventured over to Boston’s Christmas Market: Snowport. They have a ton of festive food options, but we didn’t get anything. I did buy this gorgeous Aperol print from Ashley Eisenman Art that I am excited to frame and hang somewhere in my apartment.
LA PADRONA in the RAFFLES HOTEL in Back Bay
Raffles Hotel was decked out to the nines in Christmas decor, and so was La Padrona. My Aperol spritz was served in an iconic etched wine glass, and Hannah’s pornstar martini was poured into her glass at the table with a little side of passionfruit.
Menu highlights: The cacio e pepe focaccia was phenomenal – I’ve never seen this before, so major points for creativity. I have also never had anything like the eggplant appetizer, which was delicious and kind of like an eggplant tartare. The scallop dish was also awesome.

BON SPECIALTY COFFEE in Beacon Hill
Bon Specialty Coffee has an extensive and super creative coffee and matcha menu. I ordered the cold brew with a vanilla cream top. I have been noticing more and more “cream tops” or “cold foams” popping up on coffee shop menus recently. It’s definitely trending, but honestly, nothing beats mine.
TATTE in Beacon Hill
Tatte is a Boston-loved bakery & cafe, and it’s coming to Park Avenue this Spring 2026, which is very exciting because both the croissant breakfast sandwich and chicken pita sandwich were incredible.
Menu highlights: The Chicken Pita sandwich, for sure.
L.A. BURDICK on Newbury Street
The literal best hot chocolate. The real French style. Thick, decadent, and rich in chocolate flavor. Topped with whipped cream. Delicious and not to be missed. They have a location in Soho, NYC, too.
They have a bunch of different drinking chocolates to choose from all over the world that you can buy to make your own hot cocoa. And they come with a cute little whisk. I bought my dad the blend from Madagascar for Christmas.
EXTRA DIRTY COCKTAIL CLUB in the North End
The Extra Dirty Cocktail Club was so fun and swanky. It’s a whole speakeasy cocktail experience that you pay for upfront when you make the reservation. The cocktail menu changes seasonally and is separated by section, and you get to choose one drink in each of the four sections. Each drink is accompanied by a light bite that is automatically served to you. The theme of our food menu was inspired by Thanksgiving. We had some roasted carrots, a butternut squash bisque, a Thanksgiving sandwich, and cranberry sorbet.
My favorite cocktails were the first and last drinks I ordered: a seasonal apple cider spritz and an espresso martini.
Fun fact: their logo inspired my logo.

CANNONBALL CAFE in Southie
I ordered the Green Muenster egg sandwich, which had two eggs, a roasted garlic and basil aioli, Muenster cheese, spinach, and avocado. It was good, I just don’t think I am a fan of aioli on an egg sandwich. But the real star of the show was the cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting that I absolutely devoured.
THE LANGHAM HOTEL in Downtown Boston
My flight back to NYC was supposed to leave on Sunday afternoon at 2 PM, but it was canceled, and I was put on an early evening flight at 5 PM, which was then canceled, too, once I arrived at the airport. Then I was rebooked on a 9 PM flight, but I wasn’t playing that game, so I changed my flight to the next day at 10 AM and used my $300 Amex luxury hotel benefit and some points to stay in The Langham Hotel for the night.
Through my Amex perks, I had a $120 restaurant credit and $86 breakfast credit to use, so naturally, I ordered room service.
For dinner, I ordered a glass of champagne… Filet mignon. Lobster. Affogato. And for breakfast, a bit of everything: fresh OJ, double espresso, turkey bacon, sliced avocado, berries, and Belgian waffles. Food was phenomenal and essentially free.
And after my girl math, I only spent $63 on my entire stay at The Langham. So I say that is a major win.

La Padrona is one of my faves! So happy that you enjoyed Boston :)
