So my Grandpa and his wife own this adorable little Inn that is tucked into the woods on a hill in Lake Placid, NY. The Executive Chef is Justin Daw, “JD.” He has southern roots, so his seasonal menus often have a fun southern flare. My favorite dish I’ve been ordering this winter when my Grandpa takes me out to eat is the Short Rib with jus, smoked gouda grits, and roasted broccolini (and no, I do not have a photo because I forgot.) My grandpa also loves this dish, but has to swap out the grits for fingerling potatoes. I also ordered a delicious craft cocktail with tequila, blood orange, pomegranate, and mint.
Rumor has it that my Grandpa and his wife are selling this Inn and purchasing one in Saratoga Springs, NY. JD plans to take over the restaurant at the new Saratoga Inn and feature a weekly rotating menu highlighting fresh and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant will seat eight tables a night. Reservation only.
I am hoping it will be open by this summer, so I can snag a table after a day at the track.
